I was thinking of putting wall paper over my wood paneling. The only problem is that last year I painted over the paneling with a yellow flat paint. Will wall paper attach itself to the wood paneling despite being painted already? Please help. :)

Sand it first to make sure the surface is sound. If there are groves in the panel, a spline tool will be of assistance.

As long as the paint is adhered well to the paneling the wallpaper will stick. You may want to spackle any grooves in the paneling.

You can also buy a "textured" wall paper that comes in a very neutral color that can be painted after it is put on. It will help hide many inperfections in the wall behind it....and you get to choose the color!

There's a faux finish wallpaper called Paperillusion by Village that works great over paneling, and you don't need to fill in the grooves if they're less than 1/2". It has a unique texture because you rip the paper into pieces, dip it in water and apply it to the wall, overlapping each piece. It bridges the gap in grooved paneling, so you don't notice it. I would recommend priming the painted paneling first before applying it though, so it will adhere properly. It is SUPER easy to install.
