I am reroofing my home and installing new gutters. The existing fascia is extensively rotted and needs to be replaced. Our end goal is to create as maintence free a system as possible.
My question is this - we are planning to wrap the new fascia board with vinyl or aluminum so that we don't have to paint. Does it matter what material the fascia board is made out of? I've read of using primed/painted pine, pressure treated lumber (I've read about issues of using this with aluminum) and or plywood.
Since the wood will not be exposed, looks aren't that important. But I want to do a quality job and use the right materials.
