Often on startup the choke sticks on my Yamaha after pushing the lever back in requiring pulling the engine cover and manually shutting the choke off or putting in gear and running at low RPM's untill it smoothes out.
Anyone have the same problem or any solutions?

I would check the choke solenoid to make sure the plunger is not the problem. Release the plunger from the choke butterflies and see if the plunger moves freely. Also check the choke plates to make sure they operate smoothly. Do all this manually.
