Hello everyone,

I just recently moved into a house and I'm planning on replacing the blinds but I'm having a heck of a time trying to get them off. I don't want to rip anything out and do damage to the stucco. can anyone give me ideas on how to get this off? I don't see any visual screws that I can take off.

I would post pictures but i don't see an option to do this.

post pictures to a file sharing web site (like yahoo) and then post the link here.

Hi, Depends on the type of blinds. Horizontal have mounts on the end that have little covers that lift up. You then remove the blinds then remove the mount. Virtical blinds mounted inside the window frame have clips at the top window look behind the rail and push the clip up to release the rail. To make the verticals easier to take down remove the vanes first. Push Up then slide out.

if you're talking about horizontal blinds, the headrail has been slid into the brackets. the brackets are like little boxes that have been screwed into the window frame, either into the sides of the frame, or into the top of the frame, or both. on some brackets (esp. like for vinyl mini blinds), the front surface is a square that you need to slide up & remove, then the headrail will slide out. on wooden blinds, the brackets are metal and have what looks like little garage doors on a hinge that you need to lift up. again, the headrail will then slide out. then it's a matter of backing out the screws holding the brackets.

what you might do, if none of this is making sense, is go to a blindmaker's website and look at the installation instructions. then do them in reverse.

good luck!
