We want to put ceramic tile over a cement floor, which has three cracks. At the cracks the floor height changes less than 1/8 in, and the rest of the floor is level. Can we use cement patch to even out the leveling enough so that the tiles don't crack?
If that won't work, would we have to cover all 750 ft of floor with thinset?
Thanks!
Alex

Alex,
You may lecel the cracks with thinset, however they may appear in the grout lines or in the tile at a later time. Use felt paper to cover the cracks. Also drill 1/4 inch hole in the end of the cracks to stop them from spreading. The felt paper will allow the tile to float over the cracks.
