The fan on my central air conditioning unit keeps running even after I turn off the system. The air conditioner turns off, but the fan outside in the yard keeps on running. The only way I can stop it is to pull the fuses. Any ideas?

The most common reason for that is a stuck contactor. After being in use for a number of years the contacts become rough and the special coating gets burned off. After that they tend to weld themselves together. It may happen one day and then not for a few days then happen again. The replacement is not particularly difficult or expensive. It would be best not to let the outdoor unit run when the indoor is not.
