When the a/c themostat clicks on, the air handler inside the attic turns on, the unit outside will kick on right away but only at night and in the morning. During the afternoon, when it needs to run more, the thermostat clicks on, the air handler turns on but the outside unit will kick on only after 10 - 55 minutes later. The repair man said everything was ok except that the p trap in the air handler was clogged causing the compressor to not kick on. He cleaned it out but it is still doing the same thing. Also, I noticed that there is not a lot of water draining out onto the driveway. (the compressor is on the roof and the water drains down the roof to the gutter and out onto the driveway.) Any ideas about what's going on?

I would suggest calling the service company back & telling them you unit is still not working.

As said, call the tech back, have him check the contactor and capacitor while he's out there.

I dont think Id call them back Id call a different company for sure. Yes the over flow could turn it off but dont see how on and off. Did he clean the whole line out????
