HI,
I live in a three bedroom condominium and the air conditiong unit was working fine until last week when it would still blow out air, but it was not cold anymore. I called the air condition repair service recommended by my management company and the repair guy said I need a new compressor (almost 700 dollars) and possibly a new unit if I plan on living here for more than a couple of years. My unit is a 15 year old central Carrier unit.
Does anyone know if a) I need a second opinion (could this person be lying to me?) b) should I replace the whole unit if I am planning on living here for about five or six more years and how much does that cost? c) wHat is a good brand?
THanks in advance.
