I have a 1955 Johnson Super Seahorse outboard motor that only shifts into reverse and neutral. Any suggestions on either adjusting the shifter cable or is there something enternal that I'm forgetting. The boat shifts fine when done manually on the outboard.
Thanks
Thanks

It's a 50 horse. I had it out this weekend and had to manually shift it on the side of the engine. It was a little difficult to shift it into forward and required a little force. Once its in gear its fine but sometimes at lower RPM's it will slip out. There are no problems with reverse. Thanks in advance for whatever help you might be able to give.
