My central air is acting crazy. Problem: Air works normally some of the time but intermittantly the outside compressor and fan shut off before reaching the desired temp while inside fan continues. In this mode, the unit will not restart by iteself. After resetting the thermostat after about 20 minutes, the unit goes back on again and works for a while and then shuts off again.
Pressure gauges indicate pressure is normal so HPS and LPS aren't causing it. Also, I jumped the HPS to be sure it wasn't clicking off in case I didn't see the pressure go up. 24V is present so thermostat is working correctly.
Any thoughts on what could be causing this would be appreciated. Getting an A/C guy out here is impossible.
