Hi,
A/C's outside unit does not run, makes a starting sound, fan does not start
but with a little push fan runs, then home is cooling; but the outside unit
is getting hotter.
What's wrong with my AC?
Thanks.

Could be as simple as a bad capacitor, easy fix and fairly cheap also,
The capacitor helps the fan to begin running, it boost the fan if you will.

Thanks HiltonTech, where is the capacitor located in the
outside unit? The top cover has the fan attached facing the
motor. By peeking inside the unit may be I could not
see the capacitor visible.
Thanks.
On one side or a corner of the unit there is an access panel. It will be where the wires connect. Turn the power off at the breaker & remove the panel. The capacitor should be oval & smaller than a pack of cigarettes, but could be round. Use a well insulated screwdriver & short across the terminals before touching it. Remove the capacitor & mark which wire goes where. Take the capacitor to an electric motor shop or HVAC supply house & get a new one with the same ratings.
