Hi...new user here. Hope someone can solve a puzzle. Have a Sony HCDMC3AV home stereo. Had a problem with jammed CD and took back cover off to unjam. Didn't do anything invasive, solved that problem, put cover back on, now can't get power to come on. When plugged in sounds like it tries to come on, then trips to off. Is there some kind of safety switch I am overlooking or something? Any suggestions on troubleshooting? Thanks ahead for any input...

back togther, did you check to make sure that the AC cord connector was secure? Most Sony products I've seen have a connector that comes off with the cover and you have to carefully line it up and plug it back in. You may need to take the cover back off and check this.
Look for any fuses-check to see if they're good as well.
Did you have to unplug or move any connectors? Check to make sure they're all secure. Check for pinched wires-sometimes a wire will move when putting things togther and get jammed, pinched, cut, or shorted. Again, look closely at wires that could get pinched by the cover(s).
Sometimes the screws are different sizes- are you sure you've got the right screws in the right spot? Did you remove any tape or plastic insulating sheets? Check to make sure that they're replaced. Replace the tape as needed.
Hope this helped!
