There was a spark coming from one of th eterminals in the compressor - 240V single phase. This problem blew out the fuse and broke the breaker. I replaced both. It is then I found the sparking. There was also some oil leak from the compressor. Is this situatin repairable or should I replace the compressor? Can any one help me on this. Thanks in advance

Is the oil leaking out where the wires go into the compressor? If so it is probably a gonner and don't mess around with it. If the terminal blows out it can be scary.

Get a tech in there to look at it and post back with his findings.

How old is this thing? If it's very old you do not want to just put a compressor in it. You would be wasting money.
