I purchase a 8' counter top that will fit over 4-2' utility cabinets in a laundry room.(cabinets just fit had to force last cabinet into wall to wall space of just 8') The only problem is that the counter top is 8' 1/2" and I need to trim 1/2" can you tell me the best way to do that? Thanks

Jig Saw and if the backsplash is attached, turn it upside down and use an "Up Cutting" blade

Tape the proposed cut line on the good surface as well as cutting with the piece flipped over. Jigsaw as suggested already.

I was able to turn counter upside down, I taped laminate side and cut it with up-cut fine blade and it came out perfect. Thank you very much for the help
