Greetings:

I want to add a new RG6 cable run and have seen several spltters at the store with varying Db ratings. Can someone explain why one spliiter would be marked -4db and another would read -8Db?

Thanks

The further that number is from 0, the more signal loss. The more signal loss, the more it affects your TVs picture. I wouldn't want the -8db, especially if the signal to be split has already gone through a splitter prior to this one.

Remember that each time you split the signal, you loose picture quality. Try to minimize the number of splits you have to keep it up as high as possible.

Please note that a permanent barrier between the low voltage and the 120 voltage receptacle is required. voltage classes cannot be mixed in the same box.
