my ac smells

i turn my unit on and it smells through the vents like something is burning so i turned it off i get in the attic to look around turn in on and it dose it again so i look inside the unit (blower) and the motor is off but the unit outside is on do u think its the blower motor it turns on then cuts off after a little the burn smell goes away after the blower motor turns off and when i took it out the motor was hot if so dose anyone know where i can get a blower motr ge 1/3 hp in san antonio thanks

Get all the data off the nameplate that should be attached to motor. I would check Grainger or some motor/electrical supply shops. I doubt that this is a proprietary motor that has to be purchased from an HVAC dealer. I would not change out the motor unless you are well versed and qualified with electrics.

thanks so u think it is the motor i found some online on ebay do u think i could put a motor of the same size but more rpm to get more airflow
