Hi. I live in N.E. Florida. I've discussed my heatpump AC problem here and it sounds like I have a leak and need a coolent refill. If that's all I need, what would a reasonable charge for that be? I'm concerned about someone trying to overcharge me. Thanks. jcritchie

Pricing even if I knew their rates would be a very hard call. If it was just a gas-n-go maybe $150 - $200 bucks. But the cost for them to find and repair the leak would depend on man hours and and parts that may be involved.

Difficult to say. Depends upon several factors that include time necessary to locate leak, time to repair leak, time to evacuate and recharge unit, amount of add-on freon. I would guesstimate minimum $150.00-$200.00 if no other problems encountered. However, each system and job is different and stands on its own. Based on this forum, many HVAC techs don't like or are unable to locate and repair leaks. They just want to pump a little refrigerant.
