An excellent book for all levels of tile installers is Setting Tile by Michael Byrne. Byrne is a career installer himself, and his methods are in line with the Tile Council of America's handbook. The book is not concerned with decorating, only installations.

This one book probably answers every question I've seen in this forum. It also distinguishes between the facts and the myths in my profession. I find myself dragging the book out when I need a Tile Council ruling on a procedure.

I'm sure I've seen the book at Home Depot, Lowe's, or other builder centers.
