Rookie installing chain link

Hi...I am going to be installing a 4 foot chain link fence, and have a couple questions.

How deep to I plant the terminal posts, and how much concrete will I need to anchor them?

Do I need to anchor the line posts in concrete? My neighbor's fence doesn't have it on the line posts...

My local hardware giant only offers me 12.5 gauge fencing, and 17.5 gauge toprails. Are these sturdy enough for my needs--all I have now is a 75 pound dog, but will have kids later.
