Hi All, I'm considering installing a continuous steel drainage grate on a sun deck under the roof line of a home in Vermont where the splashing from rain water is causing moisture problems to siding and doors. The deck is 2X6 pressure treated and I have the following questions: Will 12 inch wide be adequate if I center it on the drip line? How does this material get fastened to the joists and how do the edges near the adjacent floor boards look (ie: spacing)? Most of the products I've priced are 1 inch thick, so I'll have to shim it up- what's the best way to protect the joists from holding water at the shim points? Can anyone supply pictures of drainage grating installed correctly and what are the current installation theories? Thanks! CT
