At the summer house I bought in Maine last year, I currently have a point well and a fairly old pump. The pump is in a "pump house" located outside the main house apparently as a means to reduce the noise it makes. Am about to do some new construction and renovations to the house and would like to consider moving the pump into the basement of the house - and winterizing the water situation so we can use the house 12 months a year.
Would appreciate any suggestions on the best alternatives for a replacement pump - especially low noise models, and any other thoughts on reducing noise from the pump.
I would consider doing a drilled well if there are no reasonable alternatives.
Thanks.
