brass lamps

i have a brass lampshade. rods that connect the lamp shade to the lamp post have broken away from their welding. any thoughts on what i would use to weld the small rods back to the lamp shade?

If the shade is all brass then brazing rod or silver solder would do it.
Maybe you could wrap the pieces with fine wire or use some other type of simple creative patch.

are either a brazen rod or silver solder used for other common welding uses, in case i need to weld something else...
