Have a two-year-old floor lamp. Light wouldn't "switch" one evening, so replaced with a new 3-way bulb. That didn't work. Next replaced the switch, tried the new bulb, still doesn't work right. Tried another new 3-way switch with another new 3-way bulb...doesn't work on first pull, lights on second pull, stays at same intensity on third pull, shuts off on 4th pull. I tried reversing the wires on the switch, but that didn't work either. Any help would be appreciated. Can answer here and/or at waleygator@yahoo.com

Unplug the lamp. Remove the bulb. Look down in the bottom of the socket and gently bend up the tabs down there a little (not too much). Restall the bulb firmly and test.

Did as you suggested and the lamp once again works like new! Am now wondering if the old switch was still good, just needed the "prongs" pulled up a little?!?
Either way, sure happy to have my lamp back in working order!
Thanks John...
