I'm new to this site, so please bear with me if I ask questions that have already been addressed. I want to install a bathroom (and bedroom) in my basement. There are drains in the floor plumbed into the waste drain system and I would like you use one for my toilet drain. Is this possible? Will a closet flange attach to a drain? The soil stack is located about 12-15' away. I'm not sure if the vent stack is accessible. Do I need to install a vent stack for the new toilet? If so, can I tie into the existing vent system (if accessible). I also want to install a tub/shower unit and sink. Can these also be vented through the existing system? The washer and dryer are located in the basement and I'm going to check later this evening to see if there is a vent stack accessable. Any other suggestions, quesitons or tips would be greatly appreciated.
