I replaced an outlet that is attached to the light switch. I did not pay attention to how it was wired before and I do not have the outlet that was there. I have 2 sets of wires all of which have a white red and black. They all lead to 2 white wires, 1 black and 1 red. I have attached the white to the left silver bracket side and the red and black to the right gold side. I have broken the gold tab between the 2 gold side and connected the grounder wire, but the switch does not work. I did 4 others like this which work fine, but they did not have a red wire on each set to begin with. Do I have to break the tab on the left between the white wires on the silver side also.Any advise?
