I want to build a small shed in my backyard for my wife's office. Something about 10 x 12, with some windows, a door, insulated and finished on the inside.

I'm going to build it on piers. I'd like to either find some plans to build it or get recommendations on pre-fab sheds.

Thanks for your help.

Here's where you are at. You don't need a bldg. permit for a 10 X 12 shed. However, I'm sure you wife will need power in her office. Installing the power will require a bldg. permit. Calling it an "office" might open up a whole can of worms about a commercial structure (expecially if you live in an area that is zoned as residental) that might best be left alone.

As far as plans, Ortho and Sunset have books on sheds that include plans. Might check those out. To find out info on 'pre-fabs', look in the yellow pages or check with some of the lumber yards in your area that cater to contractors.
