I've been using this brand of pure acrylic trim paint: Olympic Premium Gloss(Duralife), obtained from Lowe's.
Fabulously tough finish, but here's the problem:
In temperatures above 70 degrees, it's almost impossible to get an even, consistent rolled finish on something like a door surface.
Reason: the surface begins to dry almost as soon as it's applied. When I'm done, in the light I notice the roller marks are so apparent.
Is there an additive available to retard the drying time of pure acylics ?
Has anyone else experienced this problem ?

Try to add a little Floetrol to the paint. Someplaces its called 'paint conditioner'.

Floetrol helps. If you are painting doors that have been in the sun awhile they may be much warmer than the air temp. If possible try and paint them before they get a lot of sun on them.

Will give it a try. Naturally, this condition appears most frequently with gloss acrylics as with matte, satin, etc.. it's much less noticeable.

I saw this post before and thought of Floetrol 'cause I love it, but I don't know if it is ok to use with gloss paint. They [Flood] seem to think it may affect sheen. I never used it in gloss for just that reason. It may be ok, but you should be aware.

For a bathroom job...satin, pure-acrylic finish.

great stuff....no question.

Can anyone answer this one:
Are pure acrylic paints typically mildew-resistant right "out of the can" or must an additive be mixed-in ?

XIM makes a product they call Latex X-Tender that's a retarder. Check your local paint stores for it.

Acrylic latex paint is more mildew resistent than oil base because of its base. Some manufactures add mildewcide to their paint while others do not. If you expect mildew may be a problem either have the paint store mix in extra mildewcide or buy a bottle/packet of mildewcide and add to the paint.
