I'm new here, but great site and forum!
I have a Murray mid-engine mower model 309304x8d (the swoopy black model). It's done great on my 1/2 acre city lot, but the transaxle went out (again, I have taken it apart once and repaired it).
I'm a complete do-it-yourselfer on my house, cars, and all tools and equipment, so I removed the transaxle and took it apart again.
The input shaft needle bearing were completely worn away, input shaft gear worn beyond use, and the upper housing worn through on one axle.
Repair parts will be more than a replacement transaxle. The transaxle is a Peerless 915-032. The 915 has two alternatives for placement of the input shaft and correspondly the bevel gear on the shifter shaft is placed facing away from the gear set and shift keys. This one on my mower has the actual gear set portion facing the rear of the mower.
I have found replacement Peerless 915-032A transaxles on the internet at very reasonable prices ($110.00 or less).
However that would give me 1 forward speed and 5 reverse speeds.
Does anyone know if the Peerless MST205-518 or MST205-518A would work in this application?
Any help or suggestions would be appreciated. It's sitting propped up on a milk crate now and the grass grows fast in Florida.
Thanks,
David

Sorry, I don't know if it will interchange or not.
