Can you attach baseboard with an electric nailer/stapler that will do up to a 1 1/4 brad? I am onsidering borrowing a friends Ryobi P300 18V Stapler/Nailer. Will this be sufficient?

Thanks,

While 1-1/4" brads may work OK on quarter-round trim, for baseboard the brads should be 2" or 2-1/2" long. The bottom plate of the wall as well as any studs will be at least 1/2" separation (for drywall) from the back of the baseboard. If your baseboard is 1/2" thick and the drywall is 1/2" thick, you only have 1/4" penetration under optimal situations. Typically a 16-guage or 15-guage finish nailer is used for this application with the longer fasteners.

Guess I should just rent the right tool for the job. Thanks for the reply!
