Help please (Old welding machine question)

i know absolutly nothing about welding. i have a welder in my basement. Its a miller model number ?61? It looks very old and dangerous. I was wondering where i could buy new cables or stuff for it, or even if its usable....or worth using. I also need some instruction how to use it. Just gimme a link to a website er something.

Find a shop that repairs welders and see what they charge to check it out. I definitely wouldn't spend the $ for new leads just to find it's beyond repair. Most welders that haven't been abused and kept dry will last for years.

I agree that having someone check this out for you is a good idea.
You might want to see if there is an evening course for welding nearby.

I see no reference to a model 61.
If you can be more specific with some exact numbers and a better physical description of what you have, we may be able to find out more.

In order to display a pic you have taken you need to find a host to upload to and either provide a link or code it in forums that allow it.
I use Photobucket to upload pics and display here or link to but there are others.
Or, give us the exact model number and maybe we can find it.

There is probably a nameplate on the machine, though it may be difficult to read. Wipe it off gently with a damp rag and post everything that you can read from it.
