I am in the process of installing solid hardwood flooring. I am using a pneumatic floor stapler. What I have noticed is that the stpales are blowing through the 3/4" subfloor. How do I correct this issue.
I am using 2" bostich staples with 1/2" crown based on the nailing schedule from NOFMA.
The air pressure and seating of the staples are correct.
Any input would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Mike

Buy inch and a half staples, or shim your nailer to hit at more of an angle, without messing up the entry point.

Thanks for the reply, I tried shimming up the pnuematic nailer with duct tape (multitude of layers) and had no success, I ended with what you suggested 1 1/2" staples.
I was lucky that I only had less than 10 rows in when I realized that I was blowing through the subfloor.
For any first time do it yourself hardwood flooring installation, this is another item that needs to be added to list of paying close attention to. I only realized this when I went down to my basement and seen pieces of plywood all over the place. The staples were protruding about 1/8" - 1/4" out of the plywood. I do have 23/32 plywood subfloor.
