Help! my cold water tap in the bathtub won't turn on or off, it just keeps turning round and round and doesn't have a start or finish. Because its a holiday weekend I can't get a hold of anyone...

amy_goudy, Welcome to the DIY Forums.
On the end of the handle there is probably a cover. This should pop off with a screwdriver. Under the cap there is a screw. Try tightening it. It may have backed off and is allowing the handle to come off the spline that turns the stem. If it is a plastic handle, it may have broke the splines off and thats why it turns without turning the stem. You can but new handles. Good luck and reply back with the results or any other questions. This IS a DIY job.
