I was cutting heavy tall grass using a blade type head. The head hit a stump of dirt. The engine kept running, but the head stopped. Is there a shear pin somewhere, and, if so, where would it be?

Not sure what model you have, but you probably have a broken flex cable or stripped gears in the head.
