Those worm looking things in the ugly bag like things in trees, if thats what there called. Anyway, seem to be really bad this year in trees at my house. Any news on how to get rid of them would appreciated. Most are too high to cut out of tree. Thanks in advance.

The bacterium, Bacillus thuringiensis (Bt), is effective against bagworms if it is used against young larvae. Applications should be made at the end of June after all the eggs have hatched and the larvae are through ballooning.
Or, you can use a chemical insecticide. The key is to treat early before larvae enter the silk bag. Contact your local Dept. of Agriculture Extension Agent for recommended chemicals and spraying schedule in your area. If handpicking bags, crush or burn to destroy. Avoid burning bags while in trees because of potential damage to tree.
