I want to lay in a simple above ground piping system for watering plants. I don't want to bury it as these are longer runs here in AZ and the ground here is very hard.
I know that PVC will get brittle in time but how long will it last compared to the black vinyl piping they sell.
I could use copper but that gets a little expensive.

Look for piping with UV light protection to prevent deterioration. That is what the white PVC lacks.
