I just purchased a low voltage track lighting kit from Lowes. The kit contained a 150 watt transformer, flexible track and 5 halogen lights (20 watts each). After I installed the kit, the glass globe around the each halogen light has an orange tint. Is this common or do I have an installtion problem or a bad transformer?

jva1932,
From my experience the outter orange ring is rather normal as long as the portion in the middle is bright and not discolored.
However, this should be consistant with all (5) lights.....If lets say # 4 in the string looks different and the ring is darker and so on it could be an effect of simply a reduced voltage feeding the transformer from voltage drop and so on..but not likly.....the key is if they all are consistant.
Some of the other guys here may have more experience with low voltage interior lights and can elaborate as we work with them very little......but the demand is growing.
