Hi all,
I have a prefab neoangle shower and have just discovered a leak at one back corner. The shower consists of a back panel made of flimsy plastic, a separate tub and two metal framed glass panels and a metal fram glass door for the front. I would like to fix it properly including getting out any wet greenboard from behind the panels, but I would like to keep the shower, since it is fairly new. Can these things be dissambled without destroying them (ie. can I take it apart, repair the wall and put it back together in reasonable condition? Or would I be better to just cut out what backer I can and replace it and then make sure the thing is sealed properly? There does not appear to be a great deal of damage, only about 7 or 8 square inches of rotten backer with mildew on it.

Thanks,
Bruce

I would completely disassemble the unit, proceed carefully in this procedure and make sure that you do not tear the liner.

There is probably more water damage than what meets the eye from the way it sounds.
