We are getting ready to move and my sister-in-law is giving us her sofa bed since she got new furniture. The dilemma is the sofa is really heavy and we have no need for the bed part anyway so my husband wants to remove the bed part and convert it to just a regular sofa. Any ideas on how to do this?

Removing the bed part is not too difficult
Usually take just a socket wrench, maybe a screwdriver
They are just hard to get to
The whole sleeper mech then comes out
The unit is the seat of the sofa however
Once it is gone, you'll have no support for your cushions
You'll have to make something
If it's a wood frame (once the sleeper mech is out, what's left should be all wood), perhaps you can install some wood supports for the cushions
