Nasty toilet...only 1 year old!

We have only been in our home for 1 year and it was brand new when we bought it. I have a problem with our guest bathroom toilet. I am a clean freak and despite my cleanliness our toilet always smells like urine. At first I blamed it on our son, but upon closer inspection it seems to be the actual toilet. The inside rim is rough..not smooth like it should be. The urine seems to be sticking to it and I can't get it off by scrubbing. In our other toilet the rim is smooth and polished...this one is very rough. Any solutions? Sanding? I have no idea! Thanks.

It appears that they put a cheaper grade toilet in one room. These have rough porcelin coatings or no glazing. Check your home warranty. Most cover for at least one year for defective products. Sanding will do no good. You may need to replace it. Good luck.
