Hello guys,
Bought a gallon of Zinnser 1-2-3 primer. It was the best primer that Menards had for sale. I believe it's a water based primer.
Question 1) Is this a decent primer? Anyone have experience with it? It seemed to be good stuff when I painted my new trim, but just curious.
Question 2) We want to paint our cabinets which are unfinished oak cabinets from Menards. Since we still have plenty of this primer left I'm considering using it to prime our kitchen cabinets. Would this Zinnser 1-2-3 primer be good for this task, or should we go with a "better quality" paint like a Sherwin-Williams? I've heard for painting kitchen cabinets it's a good idea to use an oil based paint, but we want to a latex based paint for our final coats. Any suggestions much appreciated.
Thanks!!

1. Yes, I think its a real good primer for certain applications.
2. Yes, if they are unfinished, 123 would be a good primer. Any good acrylic will work for a top coat. If you like Sherwin W., then I would suggest their ProClassic trim paint.

The 1-2-3 Bullseye primer is great!! I covered up my dark wood trim with it and I love the result.
