I have a Panasonic KX-T3175 two line telephone that I am using in a single line application. The line indicator light - which is supposed to steadily glow red when a call comes in or when I pick up the phone to make a call - now only flickers for a second when I first pick up the handset to answer or make a call, or when I am hanging up. I've checked all the line and mode settings for single-line use as described in the owner's manual, and they are correct. The batteries are fresh. The line indicator light has the capacity to function; when the incoming phone line is disconnected from the base, the light glows steadily. Also, if I connect my single incoming line into the Line 2 connection, the Line 1 light comes on and stays on. This is an old phone that I could buy for a nickel on E-Bay, but aside from this little annoyance it still works fine. I can't justify the expense of a professional overhaul, but if anybody can suggest something I should clean or tighten, I'd appreciate it.
