how to paint the gap between kitchen cabinets and the ceilings

Hi all,
thank you for all your help.

i've painted all the cabinets finally and looks really great.

Now i've to paint the kitchen starting from the ceiling.

Theres small gap inbetween kitchen cabinets and ceilings and i'm wondering if it has to be filled inorder to paint or just leave the gap as is.

what actually is done in this case...i totally forgot when i bought this house i didn't even pay attention whether it be left gap. but now i've painted the cabinets and see the gap very easy.

any suggestions would greatly appreciate.

When wood or paint is dark, cracks often go unnoticed but show when painted a light color. Caulk the crack between cabinet and wall/ceiling, then paint.

Actually there shouldn't be gap....in real...right? i thought the way it is like that..sorry i'm pretty new..

can i buy paintable caulk and use that correct?

There is always a gap when two peices are put together. Some show more than others. Professionals always caulk before applying the finish coat of paint. Use a siliconized acrylic latex caulk for best results. It is paintable.

Another alternative to attach moulding and paint that. The moulding could be simple 1/4 round or something fancier. I think that would look better than caulk. Of course, this doesn't work if the cabs are under a soffit and the fronts are even with the soffit.
