I currently have a chain link fence 5' h with 10' spacing on posts .....
I want to change to a 6' Dog Ear Privacy fence.
Roughly 400 " of fencing, 3-5 % downward slope with a long side roughly 210'..
So I will be stick building this one.
I live in North Carolina with hurricanes as a mild factor. I like the stronger side of building to "make sure" fence doesnt get wind blown.
I want to use PGT's to set my 2" x 4" X 6' frame on, attach 3 ea. 2" x 4" x 12' horizontally and then place the next section of 12' on or below the previous one set.
Should using 3 ea 12' be enough support / strength for the added distance of 10' or should I place another pole and make it 5' on center and shorten my frame boards?
Do the metal poles hold more strength over the time than the wood posts?
I would rather not replace the posts unless it was really needed.
Thank you,
