I am looking for curved metal straps to go around a tree that is down the property line with our next-door neighbor. The straps will connect the top and bottom rail of a wooden fence that stops and starts around a tree. The root system is too dense to set a post close to the tree. This is an alternative to boxing out the tree with the wooden fence and loosing that bit of the yard.

Any resources for metal straps to go around a trunk that has a 36" to 42" circumference and extends to meet the wooden fence (without touching the trunk) would be greatly appreciated.

what ever you do, dont have the the straps close to or on the trunk because eventually if the tree continues to grow, it will eventually engulf the straps :D :gmorning:

Please consider girth of tree at maturity and reconsider boxing in the tree with enough room to allow for growth at maturity. Or, better still place fence far enough behind or in front of tree with consideration of girth at maturity to eliminate any potential stress to tree. Depending on type of tree, roots can extend far beyond its canopy.
