1984 CL9000 starter replacement

I have replaced a starter in a 1984 Ford CL9000, but there is one wire that runs from a selinoid mounted to the frame. Where does it go?

what size wire and colour also do you mean where dose it go on the starter side or the solinoid side ??? also dose it start without this wire and do you notice anything not working??
