my bathtub faucet is leaking hot water

i have a delta monitor 1400 series bathtub faucet that is leaking from the tub spout/pull-up diverter for the shower. it's been getting worse. i found the breakdown of the whole thing so that i could try to figure out what the problem is and what possibly needs replacing. i'm thinking it maybe the rotational limit stop or the cap assembly, but i'm not sure. i'm also not totally sure if this is a job i can do myself or if i should call a professional. but if someone could give me some tips on what i can do with this, i'd appreciate it. thanks
