In 1999 I had to replace the heat pump/air conditioner unit at my home. It was suggested that I go with the Rheem 12 seer unit in order to properly cool my 2800 sq ft house! Since installation this unit has been serviced at least once a year! In 2000 the freon had to be recharged, in 2001 and 2003 the fan motor had to be replaced, in 2004 the compressor was replaced (just under warranty)! In the last 4 years we have had 2 condensers replaced! Now the unit needs yet another fan motor AND a new condenser! Have any of your knowledgable HVAC guys and gals heard anything about Rheem quality problems?? When does it become time to "bite the bullet" and replace the whole unit? What other companied would you look into. Thanks for your input! :wall:

I think what you need is an HONEST service tech. This sounds more like a scam than true work that needs to be done. All those problems for a unit only 6-7years old no way. First get a real tech to service your equipment and give you an honest asessment of you system.

Do yourself a favor, call in another tech to inspect it before you give the other one money for the change out, something sounds awfully fishy here.
There is "bad techs "out there in the field, you may have one on your hands.
Good chance Boilerguy might be right in his post.

Like said you have a lot of ifs ifs here. Is it the tech you have ????. I dont get how you can have 2 new condensers ? Thats the whole out side unit .Then another 1 new compressor ??? Plus the fan motors. You sound like you live down here with the bad electric power and need a time delay with a power drop out on the whole thing.
