hotpoint dishwasher salt problem

hi,
I have a hotpoint ultima dishwasher and it is showing it needs salt,
The display is reading demo, and the machine will not operate.
I know where to put the salt but the display does not change,does anyone have any experience of this.

There Should Be A Section In Your Owners Manual On How To Get Out Of Demo Mode....

Thanks for reply, had already looked at user manual but has no reference to demo mode.any suggestion of where i could find more info.
