hey all.
I've just got a window air conditioner for free and of course it doesn't work. The compressor is not cooling and is probably low, or out of refrigerant. But I do have a dehumidifier that is working. After removing the cover of both, I can see that the compressors look identical. My question, is could I change the good compressor into the a/c by means of removing and resoldinging refrigerant lines?? Or will I lose refrigerant in the process. I tried to find properties on refrigerant, whether its a gas or liquid when unit is off but no luck...
Thanks all for the help
