I bought a garage package from the local big-box store and expected some plans when it arrived. All I got was a general construction outline with no real tailor-made instructions. The garage will have 9 foot walls, 20'w x 22'l with a 36" x 36" window on the back wall, and on the side wall another 36" x 36" window and service door. The headers will be double 2x6 with a 1/2 inch plywood sandwich. My question is: At what height should the top (or bottom) of the window header be? I thought about putting it at the same height as the service door (rough opening of 82"), but I just don't know what would look right. Thanks.

I would probably put my header the same heigth as the header for your passage door. Just my opinion.

I think i would keep the window and door header the same height too. Keeping the same line across the openings will look nice plus siding it will be easier if both openings have the same height. And the bottom of the windows will be higher then a typical workbench tops height if you are going that route for the garage.
